Twilight and the Afterglow

Since December I have been painting from a place of endurance, challenge and growth, aware of the most subtle shifts in mood.

In my way, I have drawn upon the energy of our ever present sky, vast, alive and endlessly shifting.

Pre Christmas, I was contemplating the fire that rises from our depths, building resilience. On Good Friday, I went to Dudley Beach to watch the new moon rise at twilight in the east, as the sun went down behind in the west. This full moon is often called the Paschal Moon, a reminder of renewal with its gentle glow, and soft energy synchronised with a fragile state. Finally, in April drawing on the energy of nature, finding equilibrium and acceptance.

One of my late beautiful friends always inspires me with Van Gogh’s quote "If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere"
